“I’m pleased Nissan has answered our call for trucks to aid our recovery efforts in Haiti,” says former U.S. President Bill Clinton. As the lives of a nation remain destroyed by tragedy, Nissan Motor Co. has made a grand gesture to show its support. “This generous donation will be critical in ongoing efforts to mobilize food and other needed supplies, and I’m thankful for Nissan’s leadership in demonstrating how the private sector can help the people of Haiti ‘build back better,’” said Clinton. Contributing over $750,000 in cash and products, Nissan Motor Co. and employees have allowed their humanitarianism to shine through. After answering the call of the Clinton Foundation, and partnering with the United Nations’ World Food Programme, 30 Nissan D22 4×4 pick-up trucks arrived in Haiti on May 20th, 2010, ready to deliver resources and help save lives. These miracle vehicles with the message, “Nissan: On the roads of Haiti to help you,” will aid in the rehabilitation of this nation and its people. www.nissan-global.com
