Seeing a Better Tomorrow

For some people, seeing is believing. And for everyone else, having the gift of sight is usually something that’s taken for granted. Every day, the majority of us somehow forget how precious each breathtaking view truly is. The splendour of what we look at might only be realized when our sight finally starts to fade. By then it will be too late, unless the proper steps are taken ahead of time.
Dr. Mimmo Gagliardi has been practicing optometry in the Woodbridge and North York communities for the past 25 years. “Even people who have 20/20 vision can have an eye disease. Many conditions do not show symptoms, such as early macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal holes and tearing. All these diseases can potentially lead to blindness,” says Dr. Gagliardi.
Regardless of age or health, many of us don’t realize that having our eyes checked annually is essential. “Sometimes there is no cure for an eye disease, but if you detect it at the earliest stage, you can freeze or slow its progression to ultimately prevent blindless,” Dr. Gagliardi explains. “Technology is useful in helping to diagnose eye disease and I believe in utilizing this technology in my own practice.” Dr. Gagliardi has various state-of-the-art equipment, including a digital retinal camera to provide optimal service for his patients. Children should have their first eye examination at age three. By scheduling yearly appointments for you and your children, you’ll be sure your eyesight will see better days ahead. “After all, we need our eyes to work, live, and watch our children grow,” says the experienced optometrist.
