City of Vaughan: Oscar Night at the Annual Mayors Gala 2009

Cameras were aflash as salacious paparazzi greeted every guest with the celebrity treatment at the Annual Mayors Gala, a lavish, Oscar-themed affair held at La Primavera Hospitality and Convention Centre on June 25, 2009. Six hundred attendees walked the red carpet, where a Joan Rivers impersonator beckoned society’s who’s-who to a night of cocktails, exquisite food, and talent. Musical sensations Ross Wooldridge and Grenville Pinto serenaded the posh gathering, after mayor Linda Jackson took to the podium. A grand success, the celebration flowed into the night, with the sultry heat embracing guests as they enjoyed a midnight porchetta and dancing. “The gala was an exciting and memorable night,” gushes Jackson, “it raised over $2.6 million.” www.city.vaughan.on.ca
