When you walk into Pine Seven Dental Centre, a kind professional staff and an attentive treatment coordinator immediately greets you as you are guided to a warm, relaxing waiting area.
Soon enough, you’ll meet with resident dentist and founder of Pine Seven Dental, Dr. Maria Rotondi, who has 22 years of experience in the dental industry. During this time, Dr. Rotondi has built a strong rapport with each of her loyal patients. By establishing a good dialogue with her patients, Dr. Rotondi creates a sense of comfort, and sets the tone for all subsequent visits.
Harnessing her people skills, Dr. Rotondi has built a sense of trust and security within her clients by dealing with their apprehension in a genuine manner. “I talk a lot, sometimes a little bit too much,” says Dr. Rotondi. “But I prefer to give my clients more information than less, so that they really understand their options.” This approach enables her to guide patients through major procedures with ease and confidence.
Working with people of all ages and backgrounds, Dr. Rotondi ensures that her office caters to diverse families by making it spacious, inviting, and wheelchair-accessible.
With ever-increasing technological advancements, the dynamic of the dental practice is changing dramatically, remarks Dr. Rotondi. In addition to the rapid communication made possible by the Internet, the use of lasers can also be credited for offering quick and efficient procedures. Lasers are used in addition to periodontal therapy, to treat cankers and cold sores. They are also being used to sterilize root canal systems. “Clients who require implants are routinely sent to do CAT scans,” says Dr. Rotondi. “The information from their scan is placed on a disk, I slip the disk in, and get a three-dimensional image of their jaw … It is possible to do a virtual surgery.” These virtual surgeries allow the dental practitioner to determine how much bone there is, how the procedure will be conducted, and whether there are any specific problems to consider. Revolutionary technologies like this have equipped Dr. Rotondi and her team with the means to provide patients with the best possible care. While taking care of her patients, Dr. Rotondi ensures that she balances her career and her family life. Of this great challenge, Dr. Rotondi says that: “I wanted children in my life, and I wanted a professional career. It is not without sacrifices. There is no secret formula … it is my journey.”
Making her hard work worthwhile is the gift of watching her daughters grow up, and the smiles she receives after each procedure. “It’s amazing how small improvements in someone’s smile can restore a person’s sense of optimism,” she says. “I’ve seen these small improvements lead to positive changes in overall health and lifestyle.”
