HOR0“God created us in all shapes and sizes,” says Irma Matarazzo. She, along with her husband, Antonio, is the backbone of a successful tailoring business, which has stood the test of time since 1968.

Established on the foundation of Antonio Matarazzo’s dream to bring quality craftsmanship to our doorsteps, the revered House of Rome brings tailoring to a new level, while surging forth the art of the cut. As a penta-lingual master of the bespoke suit, Antonio will meticulously fuse your measurements, style and taste with the age-old practices of Italian couturiers.

A rarity, Antonio finds his place as one of the very few existing master tailors in the world, with a design background culled from Naple’s prestigious Galleria Umberto I Cappozzoli School. “Antonio has a tremendous passion for the bespoke suit,” says Irma. “The construction of a suit likens to the foundation of a properly built home,” explains Irma. “If it’s created with high-quality fabrics, detailed measurements, and classical touches, it can endure a lifetime.”

Tony is absolutely the best! The care, the concern, the personalization, the selection, the attitude of perfection – it’s all there. I have finally found the place to go for the clothes that make me look my best. I found House of Rome through a word of mouth referral so I am trying to amplify that. You will never regret paying mnore for a suit that people notice fits you perfectly.

Antonio is one of the most talented tailors I have ever met on this side of the Atlantic. Tony has a keen memory for the most subtle details that a client will ask for when designing and making a suit. He is a perfectionist and will not let a garment leave his shop with a suit that is not yet perfect. You cannot be inspired by this man’s commitment and passion for his art. However, if you’re not prepared to invest the same passion and effort to work with Antonio to get your suit to meet the high standards of quality and detail, I suggest you save yourself and Antonio the grief and shop at Moore’s. But if rolling lapels, surgeon cuffs, the finest horse hair canvass mean something to you visit Tony. Chose one cloth (Cerutti is a good start) have him make a pattern for you and be prepared to work and do your part so you may own truly own of a kind suit that will shape your body like it’s everybody’s business. After all you will make a public statement with a suit which you will build with Antonio from star to finish.
