For some people, seeing is believing. And for everyone else, having the gift of sight is usually something that’s taken for granted. Every day, the majority of us somehow forget how precious each breathtaking view truly is. The splendour of what we look at might only be realized when our sight finally starts to fade. By then it will be too late, unless the proper steps are taken ahead of time.
Dr. Mimmo Gagliardi has been practicing optometry in the Woodbridge and North York communities for the past 25 years. “Even people who have 20/20 vision can have an eye disease. Many conditions do not show symptoms, such as early macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal holes and tearing. All these diseases can potentially lead to blindness,” says Dr. Gagliardi.
